My cousin Janet got married at the end of June, so the fam all flew up to NY for a few days before heading to NJ for the reception. After all the family stuffs, I went to Boston for a week to hang out w/ Zefi, which was fun even though I’d gotten food poisoning at the reception and felt like shit like the entire time D: I hadn’t seen her in ages! <3 Zefi I also got to see my old roommate Tyler briefly. I wanted to hang out with him more but being sick and crappy weather messed that up :( Maybe next time!
And like three days after I got home, my dad pressured me into coming back to NY (ugh) to basically babysit my grandfather for 3 weeks because he’s scared he’s gonna die alone.
Being trapped in Flushing with no real internet connection is like, the fucking shittiest place to be. If I walk outside, everything is in Chinese/Korean/wtfever. The library is full of screaming Asian children with boba tea cups everywhere (and a very very small selection of books). There’s no bookstore or movie theater within easy walking distance, so I’d have to take the bus or subway to get anywhere for any sort of media entertainment. And my grandfather like freaks if I’m gone for more than 2 hours, so by the time I got anywhere, I’d just have to turn around and come back… I’m going fucking insane.
Also, stealing wifi isn’t working out too great. I have to do like crazy contortions in my room downstairs to get even the shittiest connection that seems to fuck up every 15mins. It’s slightly better upstairs but it still drops fairly often, like once an hour. Plus, I’m fairly nocturnal and the g-pa complains cos my typing keeps him awake when I’m upstairs, since the place where I sit is on the other side of the wall that his bed is on. You know where I get the best connection? Holding my laptop over my head while walking up the stairs. Not when I stop, but while IN MOTION. wtf is up with that?
But hurray! I get to escape this weekend~ Will be hanging out with a friend outside Philly for a day or two, so hopefully that will tide me over until I get to go home on the 25th :D
